Father’s Day

Happy Father's Day

Sundays are for associate spotlights, so what better spotlight today than all the PGT dads around the office. We have several dads in the office- some with years of experience, others with a little one on the way. No matter where they are at in their fatherhood journey, we know they’d all say that being a dad is their best accomplishment! And we’d have to agree.

Happy Father’s Day to all the PGT dads out there! We hope you have the best day today! You deserve it.

“I’m proud of all the things I’ve accomplished in life, but nothing beats being a dad to Pax and Croix!”

– Tony Uhrina –

“The best part of being a dad is coming home after a long day and seeing the excitement on my kids faces. It instantly puts me in a good mood!”

– Brandon Cliffe –

“Being a dad is being a role model, a rule setter, and sometimes a rule enforcer, but always a die-hard fan.”

– Paul Vezina –

“I love being a dad more than anything in the world. It can be tough at times, but seeing my daughter’s smiling face at the end of the day makes everything worth it!”

– Sam Titus –

“The best thing about being a dad was my first pair of Air Monarchs and the dad jokes!”

– Rob Johnson –

“There is no truer love than being father. My son Bryson is easily the best thing that has ever happened in my life. My favorite thing about being a dad is getting to share in his life experiences and teaching him how to become the best man he can possibly be.”

– Pat Watt –

“I’m looking forward to Louie making his debut in September.  I can’t wait to have a little buddy to watch Ohio State and Bengals games with and be mini-me for Halloween.

– Thomas Gibbs –

“I love everything about being a dad.”

-Chad Rugenstein-

New Team Members

We're on Fire!

Hiring has been a struggle across the country for everyone over the last couple of years. We are no exception to the rule, however, it hasn’t hit us as hard as  it has hit most companies. In fact, we are still completely on track in terms of hiring and our plan for the year.

We credit a lot of that to our biggest differentiator: PAY!

We believe everyone should be paid what they are worth! Because of that, we are growing faster than we ever thought possible…AND WE LOVE IT!

In the last couple of weeks, we brought on four, YES 4, new associates to join our team. You’ll get to know them all in our staff spotlights and other segments throughout the year, but we wanted to give them a quick shoutout today.

Let us introduce you to (left to right), Natasha Caudill, Erica Willis, Justin Buchner & Matt Tankovich!

Welcome to our team! We can’t wait to be part of your big time success!

Q2 Team Building Event

Duckpin Bowling

Every quarter, the entire PGT staff gets out of the office to have some fun together. You might remember our Q1 event where we went fowling

In the second quarter, Jenn was the one selected to plan the event. She loves to bowl, so that was the route we went. Instead of traditional bowling, we mixed things up and went Duckpin Bowling!

You should check it out! The entire team had a ton of fun. We did our best to highlight all of it in today’s video.

The event for Q3 is already on the books. You won’t want to miss it. Come join our team so you don’t miss out on the next event!

Power of PGT with Sam K

The Value of Friendship

Today’s short (I mean seriously, who doesn’t have a minute of time to spare?) video will help put a face to the name Sam Kathman!

Friendship may have gotten him in the door, but what keeps him here? Watch this video to find out!

Flag Day 2022

Show your American pride!

We are proud to be Americans in our office. We understand the sacrifices our soldiers make every day to ensure we are the greatest country in the world.

On this day 245 years ago, the Second Continental Congress changed the appearance of the United States flag because the original was too similar to the British flag. George Washington decided that wasn’t a good confidence-builder for the revolutionary effort, so he wanted a new symbol of freedom.

The new “flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white and that the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

Over 100 years later, in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson officially established June 14 as Flag Day!

So, what do we do to show our American pride at PGT? Line flags all up our walkway to our main entrance for everyone to see.

Happy Flag Day, Americans!

Meet Rob

An Avid Sports Fan

Rob was born and raised in Northern Kentucky. He stayed local for college as well- he graduated from Northern Kentucky University!

Outside of work, Rob enjoys anything sports related! He is a huge Bengals, UK, and Reds fan! He also enjoys hockey and running half marathons once or twice a year. On top of all of that, Rob trains in martial arts (Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai) in his spare time.

He has been married for almost five years. Rob and his wife have a two-year-old son and another one due in July. His family is his motivation. He does whatever he can to provide for them and to be able to enjoy his passions!

Rob has over a decade in the military and civilian logistics, including over ten years full-time with the Army National Guard.

“I love the team-oriented direction of PGT and that everyone can (and will) assist and work alongside each other. I think PGT has so much to offer someone that is looking to start in the logistics industry.” – Rob Johnson

Interview Process

Interviewing at PGT

In a world where everyone seems to be hiring all the time, the interview process has become very critical. For a lot of people, interviews are stressful, nerve-racking and something we don’t enjoy, regardless of which side of the interview we are on.

The more you know going in, the better, right? So here is a quick snapshot of what our process is like. We think you will find it simple, relaxed, and productive!

At PGT, we have modified and streamlined our interview process. The entire process can go as quickly or as long as you want it to. We will always make time to schedule interviews same day, next day, or next week- whatever works best in your schedule. And we aren’t all about taking up hours of your time!

So what are the steps?

Step 1- Apply

Step 2- Schedule

Step 3- Phone

Step 4- Virtual

Step 5- In Person

It seems obvious right? We don’t know that you are interested unless you apply and/or send in your resume!

We’ll review your resume and call you to schedule an interview if we think you’d be a good fit!

There will be a phone interview with our Director of Administration and/or human resources rep.

We would conduct a virtual interview with our lead broker (if applicable for the position applying for).

The final step is an in-person interview with the President of the company at our headquarters.

All of these steps can be completed within 2 days if you want it to! We are flexible and will go to the beat of your drum when it comes to this process.

Better yet? Our onboarding process- offer letter to first day on the job- can take as little as a week if you want it to!

See for yourself! Check out our openings on Indeed!

Recruiting & Marketing

Looking for Perfect Candidate

We’ve filled a lot of our open positions in the last couple of weeks. We’ve had 4 people start in the last week! That’s awesome and is a prime example of true growth!

At PGT, the more people we hire, the more people we will need to hire! Sounds crazy, right? Well, as we add more team members to our sales team, we need more administrative and back office people to support what they are doing. It’s a never ending cycle…and WE LOVE IT!

One of the positions that opens up when we are constantly hiring at the rate we are, is someone to manage that hiring process. We are currently looking for a recruiter who can handle some marketing and general human resources tasks as well.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be the backbone to our ongoing growth and future potential.

So what does it entail? You can check out the full job description on Indeed. It is pretty much exactly what it seems: find associates that fit with our team, mission, and goals. You will do that through our online accounts, career fairs, research, etc. You will also handle the onboarding process and ensuring all new associates can hit the ground running when they walk in the door on their first day!

What’s in it for you? Competitive salary with incentive bonuses and endless opportunity.

Other than that, check out what PGT is all about.

The atmosphere. Relaxed. Casual. Fun. Sound good yet? PGT is all of those things and then some. We want everyone to enjoy coming to work. Sure, there are always going to be bad days, but we believe there are more good days than bad here. There are TVs going, music in the background, and often jokes and stories flying back and forth. We enjoy simple things like casual attire, walks around the building, flexibility, and team events outside of the office.

The benefits. Our list of benefits continues to grow as we grow. We currently offer a 401k with a 401k match! We want you to be with us until you retire, so let us help get you there. We pay a cell phone stipend and paid time off at time of hire. In addition, we can get you set up with medical, dental and vision insurance. Not bad for a company less than two years old, right?

Growth potential. New company = endless opportunities. We have a solid staff that has laid the groundwork for success, now we just need you to help build the foundation of our future. As we grow, so do the opportunities. The potential to move up into various other roles is endless. You can do as much as you want with us and go as far as you want to go. You control your destiny when you work at PGT. How far do you want to go?

Come join our team! Check out the job description on Indeed and apply while you are there!  You can also just give us a call at 513-453-6046 to set up an interview.

Class of 2022

Congrats, Grads!

Graduation is a milestone in a young person’s life. Regardless of what you are graduating from- preschool, 8th grade, high school, college, trade school, etc- it is symbolic of the hard work you put in through the year(s).

At some point, graduation means entering the “real world” where work becomes a significant part of your every day life. We are here to help you get that jump start you are looking for as you embark on the new chapter of your life.

Obviously, if you’re graduating preschool or 8th grade, we don’t have much of an opportunity for you just yet. However, because we are willing (and able) to train, we welcome high school and college grads with open arms. (Yes, it’s true, you don’t need a degree to work here!)

We are a brokerage. We are in the logistics industry. Just don’t let those things fool you.

I bet when you think logistics you think of loading and unloading trailers. Maybe shipping and receiving. Or being on the dock. You probably think of the hands-on, physical jobs associated with the industry.

What if I told you we weren’t any of those things? We have many departments here and that continues to grow as we grow.

We have jobs- or better yet, careers- for many people and interests.

Sales
Accounting
Administration
Logistics Coordinators
Recuriters
Marketing

Think about it. Do you want to a bunch of debt from college loans? Or do you have college loans that you want to get paid off as quickly as possible?

We pride ourselves in our compensation packages and what PGT has to offer, even without any experience. Can you imagine being fresh out of high school or college and making $100,000 in the first year? What about $200,000? At PGT, that’s a real possibility.

Check out our current openings on Indeed.
